Season 2 Shuffles Along With The Walking Dead

There are two schools of zombies. You can be leisurely jogging away from the shuffling and stumbling undead featured in George A. Romero’s traditional Night of the Living Dead (1968); or you can be violently sprinting away from the fury-fueled freaks haunting the streets of London in Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later (2002). In Frank Darabont’s (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) small screen zombie apocalypse on AMC, these ‘Walkers’ move at the speed that their name implies. Some say that the second season, which premiered on Oct. 16th, is also plodding along in stark contrast to the first season’s action packed six episode run. Naturally this slow pace in the show is creating some negative buzz from the show’s ever growing fan base. While the show has definitely put its breaks on, this is not necessarily a bad thing.
